Jelly Belly for Jelly Bean Day

 The story begins with Gustav Goelitz, who emigrated from Germany and established a confectionery business in Belleville, Illinois. His descendants, including Herman Goelitz and Herman G. Rowland, continued the family tradition, eventually leading to the creation of the Jelly Belly Candy Company.

First World problems. Working in the candy industry, on several occasions I sat down to dinner with Herm. One story he told was about finding out rats ate through the wiring on his Dodge Viper. I had a hard time feeling sorry for him.
